The 6th annual Tyler Frederes Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday, August 5, 2019.
The tournament raises funds for deserving hockey players in the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (MWAHA). The funds are used for fees, dues, or expenses to assist players and families.
Funds raised from the inaugural Tyler Frederes Memorial Golf Tournament were distributed in 2015 to 13 deserving players in the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association, totaling $10,000. The 2015 tournament exceeded that goal, with $12,000 distributed at the beginning of the 2016 hockey season. After another successful year, we distributed $16,000 to players for the 2017 season, including $1000 for the inaugural Christopher Mentzel Scholarship. Chris passed away unexpectantly on February 7, 2017. An avid golfer with a true passion for hockey, family and friends donated to our organization in memory of Chris, and a new scholarship was created. The Chris Mentzel Scholarship will be awarded yearly to a deserving Kansas City player. In 2018, we distributed $19,000 to 27 players in MWAHA. Your support DOES make a difference. Thank you!
