STAY TUNED FOR THE DATE OF THE 5TH ANNUAL TYLER FREDERES MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT IN 2018.
The tournament raises funds for deserving hockey players in the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association (MWAHA). The funds pay for fees, dues, or expenses the player is unable to pay, which would hinder or restrict him/her from playing hockey.
Funds raised from the inaugural Tyler Frederes Memorial Golf Tournament were distributed in 2015 to 13 deserving players in the Midwest Amateur Hockey Association, totaling $10,000. The 2015 tournament exceeded that goal, with $12,000 distributed at the beginning of the 2016 hockey season. After another successful year, we distributed $15,000 to players for the 2017 season. Also during 2017, The Christopher Mentzel Scholarship was created with $1000 distributed to a Kansas City hockey player. Chris passed away unexpectantly on February 7, 2017. An avid golfer with a true passion for hockey, family and friends donated to our organization in memory of Chris, and a new scholarship was created.
You can sign up for the tournament or donate directly to this great cause, a memorial to Tyler and Christopher and the sport they loved, and in the process, your support will give other kids a chance to play!
